Tropical Trek is a guided UTV and side-by-side adventure company based in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, your email address, and whatever you write in your message. If you call, text, or email us directly, we have whatever information you choose to share with us in that conversation. We only ask for what we need to answer your question or get you on a tour.
Bookings are handled by FareHarbor, a third-party reservation platform. When you book a tour, the details you enter—including your name, contact information, party size, and payment details—are collected and processed by FareHarbor under their own privacy policy, not ours. We never see or store your full payment card information. We do receive the reservation details we need to run your tour, such as your name, contact information, and which tour you booked.
Like most websites, ours collects some technical information automatically when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the site or search that sent you here. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and may process this data on Google's servers. You can opt out across all sites using Google's browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings—the site will still work.
We use your information to respond to your questions, confirm and run your booking, arrange pickup and drop-off, contact you about weather or schedule changes, keep our tours safe, improve this website, and meet our legal and insurance obligations. If you have asked to hear from us, we may also send occasional updates about tours and availability—every one of those emails includes a way to unsubscribe.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us operate—our booking platform, email and web hosting providers, and analytics provider—and only to the extent they need it to do their job. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if we need to protect the safety of our guests, our team, or the public.
We sometimes take photos or video during tours and share them on our website and social media accounts. If you would rather not appear in anything we post, just tell your guide or email us and we'll leave you out—or remove an image that's already up.
We keep your information only as long as we need it—to answer your inquiry, service your booking, and keep the business records our accountants and insurers require. After that, we delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time, and you can decline cookies in your browser. To make any of these requests, email info@tropicaltrekvi.org and we'll take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data—tell us where you're writing from and we'll honor what applies.
This site is served over an encrypted connection, and we limit access to guest information to the people who need it to run our tours. No website or business can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
This website isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Bookings for families are made by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Our site links out to our booking platform, our social media accounts, and other places we think you'll find useful. Once you leave our site, you're covered by that company's privacy policy rather than this one, so it's worth a look if you're curious how they handle your data.
